About the Bovine Field Services Clinic

Every year, the clinicians and professors from the CHUV’s Bovine Field Services Clinic make over 5 000 visits directly to farms in the region of Saint-Hyacinthe. Most visits concern dairy producers, but beef, pork and chicken producers also requires our services on occasion. Curative and preventive medicine as well as emergency and medical imagery services are offered to farmers.

The Field Services Clinic’s mission is to offer high quality training in field services to students, interns and residents of the Faculté de médecine vétérinaire while dispensing professional veterinary services to local farmers. This double mandate requires highly qualified technical and scientific staff.

To allow the students to perfect their clinical skills, they accompany the veterinarians on the farms for both routine visits and emergencies.

The CHUV’S Bovine Field Services Clinic serves over 230 farmers in a radius of 60 km from Saint-Hyacinthe. The field services offers preventive and curative services on a daily schedule from Monday to Friday as well as an emergency service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Also, complex cases can be referred to the CHUV’S Farm Animal Hospital as needed.
