The Small Animal Hospital welcomes emergencies 7 days a week (8:00 to 23:00). However, we ask you to contact us before your arrival at the hospital, so we can be prepared to welcome your animal in the best manner possible.

An appointment is required for any visit, except for emergencies. Our specialists are available Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 17:00 on your veterinarian reference only.

The Emergency and Intensive Care Service, the General Practice Services and the Zoological Medicine Service can meanwhile accommodate your pet without veterinary reference.

From September to May, ou General Practice Service offers vaccination appointment during the evening from 18:00 to 19:30 on Thuesdays ans Wednesdays only.

Parking is available for our clients in front of the Small Animal Hospital at 1525 Des Vétérinaires Avenue, including two spaces reserved for people with reduced mobility. It is also possible to park along this avenue. Other parkings require permits from the Université de Montréal.

Upon arriving at the hospital, present yoursel at the reception fifteen minutes prior to your appointment. Make sure you have all the necessary documentation in hand. We ask that your dog be on a leash and your cat in pet carrier. If an infectious disease is suspected, we ask you to inform our team and limit the contact of your pet with other patients. A deposit equivalent to 50% of the original estimate will be required should your pet require hospitalisation.

Please note that it is strictly forbidden to take pictures or video images in the hospital.

Because consultation time is precious, we ask you to call us as soon as possible if you need to cancel your appointment. Thus, we can offer these hours to another patient.

Appointment cancellation policy

Cancellation of your appointment: please do so as soon as possible, up to 72 hours in advance.

There is a $40.00 appointment cancellation fee:

  • If you fail to show up for your appointment without notifying the admissions staff;
  • If you cancel an appointment for a 3rd time.

We sometimes receive referrals for medical imaging exams (MRI, CT scan) for large people. Unfortunately, we cannot offer this service, as our equipment is of the same type as that used in humas hospitals and therefore has the same limitations, as well as for legislative reasons.
