The CENTRE HOSPITALIER UNIVERSITAIRE VÉTÉRINAIRE

Located in the heart of Saint-Hyacinthe, the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Vétérinaire (CHUV) of the Faculty of veterinary medicine is a unique medical centre that treats as many as 20 000 animals each year. The hospital offers continuous service, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The CHUV benefits from the contribution of clinical professors active in research and up to date on recent developments in their fields of interest. These professionals, along with the support of a highly qualified technical staff, have access to state of the art equipment therefore enabling the CHUV to offer a wide range of specialized services to veterinarians, pet owners and farmers. These services include surgery, medical imaging, internal medicine, dentistry, dermatology, sports medicine, reproduction, ophthalmology and neurology and are available for companion animals as well as horses, farm animals, exotics, birds of prey and zoological institutions.

Many other hospital amenities such as a pharmacy, sterilization, administration, admissions, and technical support complete the CHUV’s infrastructure.

The CHUV accounts for almost half of faculty’s workforce, employing over 75 clinicians and professors, 108 members of the support staff, 27 interns and 18 residents.
