The Exotic Animal Clinic

The exotic animal clinic offers specialized veterinary care to small mammals (rabbits, ferrets, rodents, hedge hogs), Vietnamese pigs, exotic birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, invertebrates, as well as to animals from zoological societies, during regular hours as well as for emergencies. The CHUV is the only veterinary establishment in the province of Quebec to offer specialized emergency services for small mammals and exotic animals 24 hours a day, 365 days a week.

The staff at the exotic animal clinic works closely with the many other services offered at the CHUV such as medical imaging, ophthalmology, animal behavior, surgery and anesthesiology to allow the highest quality of care to our patients. This collaboration between services allows an animal to be evaluated by specialists in precise areas of veterinary medicine while still being cared for by veterinarians with an expertise in exotic animals and small mammals.

Please take note that any questions concerning wildlife must be addressed to the Centre québécois sur la santé des animaux sauvages and questions regarding birds of prey, to our Clinic for birds of prey.
